Bees, Honey & Cream Tea in Branscombe – 23rd April

Join us for a relaxed and enjoyable mid-morning bee experience, based at the Old Bakery in Branscombe with LBL Nici Chapman from Hollow Oak Stores.
We’ll begin at 10.30am with tea and coffee on arrival, before heading upstairs for an informal, interesting (and fun) talk about honey bees. You’ll learn how a hive works, what life looks like inside it, what we do as beekeepers through the seasons, and the different things we make from the hive – all shared in an easy, accessible way, with plenty of time for questions.
Weather permitting, we’ll then take a short walk out to view the hives. The walk takes around 5–10 minutes, heading from the Old Bakery, through the orchard, and along the footpath towards Manor Mill. From there, the hives can be viewed safely across the stream.
If you’d like a closer look, you’re welcome to bring wellies and cross the stream to a nearer (but still safe) viewing spot.
We’ll finish back at the Old Bakery with a guided honey tasting, trying a variety of different honeys, followed by a proper honey cream tea. This is a relaxed time to chat, ask questions, and enjoy the flavours.
Each guest will also receive a take-home honey goodie bag (worth over £10) featuring our own hive products, to enjoy later.
